5 Million Tree Campaign

On California Arbor Day, March 7, 2008, the Sacramento region joined a select group of community initiatives committing to large tree planting campaigns by announcing the biggest one yet, our 5 Million Tree goal.

Utilizing our framework for building the best urban forest for the region, the Greenprint Initiative, we will double the region's tree canopy over the next 40 years. In order to achieve this goal, we need to plant 5 million more trees in our six-county region by 2025.

How you can get involved in the campaign:

• Plant a tree and then add it to our 5 Million Tree Counter
• Volunteer at one of our community tree plantings
• Learn how to care for the trees in your yard
  
• Join by adopting a tree or becoming a member
