We offer expertise, training, tools, and advice so that we may empower our community to plant, protect, and learn about trees.

Free Trees for Schools & Parks

Sacramento Tree Foundation can provide the expertise, support, and services to help green your community's schools, parks, streets, and open spaces.

Schools are the perfect setting for large shade trees. Trees protect children from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays, can have a positive effect on children's ability to concentrate, and make school grounds more beautiful and inviting. If you want to plant trees at your school, complete our Community Shade Application.

The difference between a barren field and a park is a shade tree. Trees transform parks into places for contemplation, recreation, physical activity, camaraderie, and relaxation. Every park is better when matched with the right trees! If you would like to plant trees at a park near you, complete our Community Shade Application.

Sacramento Tree Foundation also provides a special service for Tribute Trees. If you would like to plant a tree in memory or in honor of someone, please learn more about growing a living legacy for your loved one.

In addition, our Nature program works to replenish and sustain the native flora and fauna of Sacramento County by replanting and protecting native trees and woodlands. Check out restoration projects we have completed in Sacramento County.
