Growing the urban forest in Folsom

by Kimmy Boyle

February 1, 2021

We are very excited to announce our newest NeighborWoods initiative in partnership with the City of Folsom. We will be working closely with city staff and the wider Folsom community to help grow, care for, and expand the city’s urban forest.

By focusing these community-led initiatives in areas with low, aging, and new tree canopy, we will support neighbors in growing community connections and tree stewardship.

This partnership will also include native tree reforestation in Folsom’s many natural spaces. Native trees provide the highest habitat value for wildlife, and they also make beautiful spots for exercise, birdwatching, and other recreational activities that make Folsom a wonderful place to live.

If you would like to find out more or get involved, please contact the project coordinator: email Kimmy Boyle or call (916) 214-9682.
