Get Ready for Fall Tree Planting Workshop

South Natomas Community Center

Fall is the perfect time to plant a tree. City of Sacramento and Sacramento Tree Foundation are partnering to provide a workshop that shows how to select and site a water-wise tree, and then how to plant, water, and care for it during the establishment period. Sacramento’s urban forest provides benefits for everyone. Thoughtful selection and watering helps make trees drought-resilient and strong, which adds to the overall urban canopy of Sacramento. Attendees will receive free gardening gloves and trowels.

Watering and Pruning Young Trees Workshop

Healthy trees mean healthy neighborhoods. City of Sacramento and Sacramento Tree Foundation are partnering to provide workshops to show how to water trees, use rain barrels, and prune young shade trees for strong and attractive structure. Learn simple steps you can take now to help your young shade trees grow healthy and beautiful, and save you time and money in the future. This workshop includes an indoor classroom portion followed by outdoor field training practicing pruning in small groups on young trees. Attendees will receive free soaker hoses.
