Bear River Habitat Trail

Project Plan
The project is occurring on properties owned and
managed by Yuba County, which are located adjacent to the Plumas Lake
Community. The multi-use trail will provide opportunities for pedestrians and
cyclists to spend time outside and it supports connectivity under the Yuba
County Bikeway Master Plan.
The habitat created by the newly established plants
will provide an important link for wildlife between the Algodon Slough to the
North, wetland conservation areas to the East and the Bear River and Feather
River Wildlife Area to the South. The Feather River Wildlife Area and the
adjacent Audubon Bobelaine Sanctuary (six and a half miles south of the project
area) together comprise the largest contiguous remnant mixed riparian forest
that remains in the California Central Valley.
