Programs

We offer expertise, training, tools, and advice so that we may empower our community to plant, protect, and learn about trees.

NeighborWoods in River Park

The River Park Tree Canopy Project is a community-based effort to restore and enhance the tree canopy in River Park. Through this initiative, we have successfully planted over 100 trees in River Park since 2015 with the help of amazing volunteers from the River Park community!

Monitoring trees for the Save the Elms Program

Sacramento

Thursday, May 28

After watching an online training, you are invited to participate in monitoring Sacramento's elm trees for Dutch elm disease while out on a walk or bike ride. You'll report your findings through a smartphone app so we can save our remaining iconic elm trees from this deadly disease.

Rachel Patten grew up locally in Roseville, where she spent most of her childhood playing sports, and through that time, developed an appreciation of the outdoors and the majestic oaks which populate many of our local parks. She is very passionate about the human impact on our splendid natural resources, which drives her to be an advocate for our urban tree canopy.
